Christopher Atkins, best known for his role opposite Brooke Shields in The Blue Lagoon (1980), was recently spotted in a rare public outing in Southport, Connecticut at age 64.

The film, set on a deserted island, became infamous for its nudity and the controversy surrounding Shields, who was only 14 during filming. Though body doubles were used for her scenes, Atkins, then 18, appeared nude in several shots.

Despite harsh criticism, the film was a box office hit, earning nearly $59 million on a $4.5 million budget—but the controversy lingered, impacting Atkins’ early career.
