Trump White House Responds After Schiff Demands Financial Disclosure Records

Sen. Adam Schiff Demands Financial Disclosures, Faces Accusations of Hypocrisy

California Sen. Adam Schiff is calling for financial disclosure reports from senior Trump White House officials, raising concerns over their compliance with ethics laws. In a letter to White House counsel David Warrington and Chief of Staff Susie Wiles, Schiff demanded explanations for delayed filings and a list of affected officials.

However, critics quickly pointed to Schiff’s silence on fellow Californian Nancy Pelosi’s controversial financial history. White House spokesman Kush Desai responded, citing public concern over Pelosi’s alleged insider trading and urging Schiff to focus on more pressing issues.

Despite assurances from the Trump White House that officials are compliant with ethics laws, Schiff continued criticizing their transparency and alleged misuse of power.

Meanwhile, Pelosi, with a reported net worth of $120 million, has faced years of insider trading allegations. She declined to comment when asked by Fox News. Her spokesperson claimed she has no involvement in stock trades.

In response to such concerns, Missouri Republicans Sen. Josh Hawley and Rep. Mark Alford introduced bills to ban congressional stock trading. Both stressed the need for greater transparency and accountability in Congress.

Pelosi, when asked about supporting a stock trading ban, gave a lukewarm response: “if they do, they do… sure.”
